Topics: AI learning technologies STEM Computational thinking  Coding

Learning technologies are dramatically improving education from the academic level, where e-learning platforms represent an ubiquitous reality and widely support student-lecturer communication channel, to kindergarten level, where kids often use storytelling tools, while learning the basics of computational thinking in an effective constructivist way. Teaching the core skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through all the age levels is paramount for the future of social communities of scientists.
The main aim of this workshop is to bring together expertise in the field of learning technologies focusing contributions on the application of Artificial Intelligence methodologies to conventional blended learning management systems, and  technologies supporting the learning process of analytics, computational thinking, and coding.

Topics

Topics will include (not limited to) models, architectures, systems and
experiences on:

AI in mobile learning systems, AI in distance learning systems, AI in massive on line open courses (mooc), AI and story telling tools, Autonomous e-learning support system, Teacher oriented learning analytics, Student performance prediction and automated classification, Automatic adaptive teaching, Student behaviour modeling, Tracking devices and sensors for monitoring user emotional feedback, Intelligent automated student tutoring, Artificial characters for student assistance and supervision, Augmented reality in education, 3D/4D reality in education, Virtual learning environment for STEM, Virtual experimental labs for STEM, Learning technologies supporting constructivist educational approach, Virtual community for distance classes collaboration, Virtual ecosystems for teacher collaboration and knowledge sharing, Questions/tests sharing social networks, repositories and analytics, Distributed repositories for teaching Proctoring Systems and Infrastructures.

Submission guidelines

Papers must be original contributions written in English and must be submitted through the
ICCSA Electronic Submission site (ess.iccsa.org) as:

·        Full Paper (10-16 pages)

·        Short Paper (7-9 pages)

Please upload all submissions in LNCS format. Once in the ICCSA Electronic Submission site, you will find a button to submit a new abstract. After the form for personal info, there is bottom-right a dropdown menu where you must select “Advances in Artificial Intelligence Learning Technologies: Blended Learning, STEM, Computational Thinking  and Coding (AAILT)(IMPORTANT!). After submitting the abstract, you should enter again to submit your paper.

To ensure high quality, submitted papers will be carefully peer-reviewed by at least 3 PC members based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Papers on applications, case studies, and data sets are welcome, as well as master/PhD thesis showcases. Each paper must be original and unpublished work, not submitted for publication elsewhere (copyright problems fall entirely under responsibility of the authors).

Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, if the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors should register and present orally the paper in the conference. Failure to do so shall lead to exclusion of the paper for the proceedings.

Detailed instructions for submission can be found in the ICCSA page of Instructions for Authors. Questions on topics of the submission can be sent to the scientific program committee. Any further question on technical aspects of submission, or inquiry for technical problems can be sent to Osvaldo Gervasi. Please note that the Electronic Submission Site has a separate login access with respect to the registration to the conference.

Publication of proceedings

AAILT 2022 proceedings will appear in the Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series for ICCSA 2022 (indexed, among others, in Scopus).

Authors of selected papers will be invited to participate to future events, if they like.
